Our facility has a spacious outdoor area that extends almost around the entire kindergarten. It is surrounded by greenery, old hedges and trees.
In the front area there is a large paved area that invites you to drive vehicles and scooters. A sand play corner, gymnastics bars and a see-saw complete this area.
In the rear area there is a natural water and mud area with a sand area, a bird's nest swing, a spacious lawn and a natural area with climbing trees and huts.
For us, the outdoor area as a constantly used play area is part of the educational concept of our day care center. It is important to us that all children can move freely on the outdoor area and can discover the area for themselves according to their individual abilities.
During the free play phase, a limited, pedagogically justifiable number of children may of course use this play area.
All permanent educational staff are state-approved educators. This staffing is a pedagogical (quality) feature of our facility.
All employees have taken part in a prevention training course organized by the Diocese of Münster. Regular participation in first-aid courses and individual participation in further training courses are also part of the further development of every employee.

These days, families are made up very individually, but they still form the basis for a positive working relationship with the child.
So that both parents and children feel comfortable with us, we work in partnership with the parents. Our facility is a meeting place.
Our dealings with parents/guardians are characterized by appreciation, acceptance and understanding. We always involve the parents/legal guardians in things that affect them and their family and take their opinion and current family situation into account when making fundamental decisions. We inform parents/guardians regularly and transparently about the content and organizational aspects of our work.
In addition to regular door-to-door talks, the educators offer a detailed parent-teacher meeting once a year on the current developmental status of the child.
In addition, the educators are always available to talk to and are always open to further discussions.
Every year in autumn there is a general meeting of parents. On this evening, the parents' council for the current kindergarten year is elected. This currently consists of six members.
Depending on requirements and at irregular intervals, the parents' council members meet with the facility management and other educational professionals to clarify current questions and events, to discuss parenting situations, or to pass on suggestions or ideas from parenting.
In addition, the council of the day care center is made up of two members each of the parents' council, as well as two members of the educational staff and the operator. This committee meets on certain occasions and decides, among other things, framework conditions (e.g. admission criteria, closing days, conceptual changes...) that are of fundamental importance for the institution.

The St. Josef kindergarten is located in the town of Steinfurt in western Münsterland. The city consists of two widely separated districts, Burgsteinfurt and Borghorst, and has around 35,000 inhabitants.
The premises of our St. Josef kindergarten were blessed in 1972 at Pastoratsweg 6. Our facility is very centrally located in the town center of the district of Borghorst with around 20,000 inhabitants. It is surrounded by greenery, is located in a quiet driveway and is easy to reach from the surrounding residential areas. In the immediate vicinity are, among other things, the vicarage of St. Nicomedes and the associated church, the Marien primary school, a library, the early intervention center of the DICV and various shops.
A pediatrician, the Marienhospital, and other specialists can also be reached quickly.
Thanks to this exposed location, all paths can be easily covered on foot.
Our day care center is a two-group day care center in which 44 children aged 2-6 years are cared for.
The spacious layout and brightness of the rooms created an atmosphere in which children, parents and educators can feel comfortable.
From a large entrance area with an integrated breakfast cafe, you can access the two groups, Hühnerhof and Flower Meadow, of the facility.
You can also get to the exercise room and the staff and utility rooms from here.
Each group has a group room, an additional adjoining room, a cloakroom and an adjoining washroom
A bedroom/relaxation room with an integrated snoezle area completes the spatial offer of our facility.
Our Snoezel room offers children the opportunity to take a break from everyday life. Because children also experience hectic, stress and deadline pressure. They also need times when they can leave the stress behind and actively relax. Snoezelen is a good way to retreat.
