Pictures of the facility

The St. Willibrord family center has existed since 1958. The old building was renovated in 2002/2003 and since then each group has had its own washroom. In addition, the three-group facility was expanded to include a fourth group with adjoining rooms and a washroom suitable for the disabled. Staff room, office, bedroom and  music room were also built on the upper floor.
In 2013 there was another conversion. Two groups were given an adjoining room, which makes small group work possible. In addition, a washroom has been expanded to include the changing and care area.
Opposite the kindergarten, premises were rented for the group of 0-3 years. The facility has a spacious, natural outdoor area with many different play and exercise options. There is a hill, tunnel, two bird's nest swings, sheltered corners, slides at different heights, balancing and climbing equipment, a buzzing stone, large sandpits, a mud area, lawns with mature trees, a soccer goal and more. By sharing the outdoor area, all age groups have contact with each other.

A visual insight:

The team

"Coming together is a beginning.
Keeping together is progress.
Working together is a success." (Henry Ford)

Everyone starts from scratch in a team. Due to the open and friendly nature of our team, every employee gradually becomes a team member. The understanding and helpful nature of everyone strengthens each team member in their position. We are strengthened in our pedagogical work through regular further training and are always learning new things.

Now we are ready to work together successfully. With kind words and gestures, we want to keep it that way. Because only a good and strong team can do good work, which is also reflected in the children.

Every employee has taken part in a prevention training course run by the Diocese of Münster. We also regularly refresh our knowledge of first aid. Further training courses on pedagogical work or also in the area of specialist women are gladly attended.
Twice a year we have a planning day where the pedagogical work is reflected on, experts advise us and the planning for the coming year is determined.

Support association

The support association of the St. Willibrord family center aims to supplement the facilities in the kindergarten for our children and to provide the necessary funds.

Since it was founded in 2004, play equipment such as a mud plant or a bird's nest swing has been purchased for the St. Willibrord kindergarten. In addition, activities such as a visit to the zoo or admission to a puppet theater were financed by the association. This was made possible by the membership fees, donations and income from various activities of the association.
A membership is possible from 1 euro per month and can be canceled at any time. More information and the declaration of membership can be found on the flyer. 100 percent of all income from the association goes to the kindergarten and thus to the children.

Groups and staff

Daisy group

Children aged 2 to 5 are looked after in the daisy group.
At this age there is a lot to discover, learn and deepen. "Which colour is it?" "What day is today?" "How many children are there today?" Colors and numbers are learned and consolidated. Singing, playing, moving are fields of learning for the cognitive area.
First friendships develop and social-emotional skills are encouraged and strengthened. Here, togetherness is paramount. The little ones learn from the big ones to become independent and the big ones help the little ones and become considerate and helpful.
So there are many different areas that are tested and strengthened.

Poppy group

In the corn poppy group, preschool children aged 5 to 6 years are cared for. The children are prepared for school. They get to the bottom of things, take spontaneous trips and deal with themselves and the world. Visiting the fire brigade and police, age-appropriate promotion of fine motor skills through worksheets with swing exercises, tying shoelaces or the loom, as well as promoting motor skills through catch games, cooperation games or movement landscapes are all part of the "Schuki Club". The strengthening of the group feeling and also the consolidation of social-emotional skills are the focus of the group.

Buttercup group

The Buttercup group is designed for 10 children. If necessary, up to 12 children can be accommodated. The group consists of children aged 4 months to 3 years. They have the opportunity to explore their surroundings, learn to walk, pour things out and put them back in. This group is very familiar. It is very important to adhere to the structures and fixed procedures, because this gives the children the security to detach themselves from their parents and to feel comfortable in the group. The focus here is on promoting independence and areas of perception.
