About us

Religious education

As a Catholic day care facility, it is very important to us to live and experience faith.

Belief happens/happens every day. Each child is personally greeted and noticed every day. In this way, the children experience that they are wanted and welcomed. Every child is a gift from God. For us, it goes without saying that we pray with the children at lunchtime and thank God for the gifts. In the course of the church year, the children get to know the different festivals and their meaning. We celebrate them together with church services.
We are supported by pastoral officer Claudia Brebaum. She comes to our facility regularly. Together, the biblical stories are brought to life and have a connection to our lives.

During the course of the day there are always situations where we can discover God's traces together...

  • colorful leaves,
  • different birds,
  • Hugging a child,
  • sharing toys,
  • standing up for others,
  • Reconciliation after a quarrel,
  • Prayer - Talking to God

Educational work

The pedagogical approach means the common thread that runs through the kindergarten work.
In our kindergarten, the focus is on the situation-oriented approach. This starts with the acclimatization by following the Berlin model.
Only by constantly observing the children's play behavior are the (experiential) spaces with the children designed and changed in terms of light, stimuli, opportunities for retreat and interests.
Rituals such as breakfast time, sitting in a circle and cleaning up together give the children orientation and security.
Inclusion is experienced with us through the joint upbringing of children with and without disabilities, through different faiths, nationalities and languages in everyday pedagogical work.
Various materials are offered in free play, which stimulate thought, experimentation and exploration.

We offer the processing of various topics through guided movement offers, offers for future school children, excursions, musical-creative activities and more in and outside of the group room.
A newly anchored point in the KiBiz is called participation. This means that the children are involved and have a say in day-to-day life in the kindergarten, in the spirit of “I have something to say and I will be heard.” The children should be perceived and taken seriously as conversation partners. They should express their interests and wishes and be able to realize them within the scope of our possibilities. Participation can already be lived out in our everyday life during the free play phase, since the children can choose the location, the material, the partner and the duration themselves.

The educational demands and the realization that children of kindergarten age are particularly receptive and enthusiastic require us as a team to constantly reflect on our daily work.

Under three year olds

Since August 2013, our facility has been offering childcare places for children aged 0-3.
We see it as our responsibility to fulfill the educational mandate for young children as a family supplement.

Each child is assigned a primary caregiver, who always accompanies the child during the adjustment phase and is the contact person for the parents. Every child is treated and respected in a loving, individual and caring manner.
An intensive and trusting cooperation with the parents is of great importance to us.

Inclusion

We have been working in an integrative manner since 1989.
The integrative work is aimed at children who have developmental delays in the various areas of education or are at risk of a disability.
The aim of the integrative work is to strengthen these children through individual support in individual and small group offers and thus to integrate them into the overall group.

Meals

For a monthly contribution of 8 euros, the children get a varied, wholesome breakfast buffet every day.

In the afternoon we offer the children a snack of fruit, vegetables and whole grain products.
Drinks are available for the children throughout the day.

We also value balance and variety when it comes to lunch, which is delivered externally. The meal plan with pictures and buttons on which the children or teachers record their lunch is always visible in the hallway. In this way, the children can visually and aurally recognize what is being delivered for lunch today.

Intercultural education

Children of different nationalities attend our facility. In the beginning, they often communicate with facial expressions and gestures.

An important part of our work is showing the children appreciation and acceptance so that they experience a sense of security and belonging. Only when children feel safe and secure in the facility do the language-building activities begin to take effect.
In addition, projects, offers and impulses for different cultures and religions flow into our educational activities. In this way, we arouse curiosity, interest and understanding of foreign cultures in the children.

Everyday integrated language education

"Language strengthening is always good for a child and developing one language can never harm another." (e.g. Ortega)

Therefore, language support (according to §13c Kibiz) takes place in large and small groups. Through observation and documentation, we can set individual incentives and impulses and the children expand their vocabulary and language skills in a playful way.
All important caregivers (parents, grandparents, educators,...) play a major role and support language acquisition by listening, reading aloud and lovingly accompanying them.
Contact person for the "Language" area is Anne Ruschulte.
